Klondike Derby – February
Patrols from area troops compete, testing their scouting in a cold environment, themed as an Alaskan prospecting course.
Alonzo Stagg 50/20 Hike – March
A one day multi-troop hike that challenges scouts to hike 50 miles in a single day!
New Scout Campout – March or April (depends on Easter)
A single overnight campout intended to introduce New Scouts to Troop Equipment Setup and Use, along with some Team-Building Games.
Projectoree – April
A multi-troop competition on scouting skills.
Spring Scout Skills Weekend – June
Semi-annual outing for helping younger scouts field test skills required for advancement.
Summer Camp – July
The annual summer camp program for all Troop 111 scouts.
Guns and Arrows – September
Marksmanship games.
Marine Corps Marathon – October
The annual summer camp program for all Troop 111 scouts.
Poinsettia and Christmas Wreath Fund Raiser – October
Troop 111’s annual fund raiser.
Baltimore Orienteering Meet – October
Orienteering is meant to be a cross-country race with map and compass through unknown terrain, a kind of treasure hunt for strategically placed markers. A good orienteer needs strong legs, a subtle brain, and the ability to exert both at the same time, which is rare.
Scouting for Food – November
An annual food drive supporting community food banks.
Fall Scout Skills Weekend – November
Semi-annual outing for helping younger scouts field test skills required for advancement.
