Summer Camp Parent Meeting

ASM Ken Sault and Merit Badge Coordinator Joan Gaines will be holding a Q&A session for parents who want to find out about planning for Summer Camp 2012. All questions are good questions and we will do our best to answer them all. Our collective goal is to make sure every scout has the best possible summer camp experience! We will show you what activities are offered and the pre-requisites ti be aware of, guide you through how to pick the best selection of merit badges and activities for your scout, and share some tips on finding a balance between scheduled and free time so that the week is full of important advancement opportunities and FUN. Please try to attend. We will also post information and forms on the Troop website after the 14th.

Annual Parent and Adult Social

On May 5th, from 5-7pm, The Executive Committee invites you to join us for our Annual Parent and Adult Leader Social. We will be celebrating Cinco De Mayo at Knights of Columbus. Alonzo Stagg 50/20 Hike a BIG Success!

A BIG thank you to all those who helped out with the Alonzo Stagg 50/20 hike this weekend, one of the largest events of the year for Troop 111. We had over 215 hikers participating with over 50 volunteers from 10 different Troops! This event could not happen without the fantastic support and assistance from Troop parents and adults! Thank you to all how helped out!

We’ll crunch the numbers and post actual results in a few weeks so check back often to see the final tally.

And Congratulations to all the hikers!

Troop 111 wishes you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We had a lot of fun decorating a Christmas tree for St. Agnes, above. It was great seeing many of our former Scouts home from college as well. Have a safe New Year’s celebration and see everyone next week.

A special note from Ms. Clark – Troop 111 Executive Committee Chair:

I just wanted to take a moment to say Thank You to Ms. Clegg, Ms. Aylor and Ms. O’Brien for their amazing and overwhelming success at our one and only Troop Fund raiser – The Poinsettia Sale.

The team sold every single plant not to mention having to go back to the nursery to get more; twice! Preliminary results indicate this has been our best year!

Please join me in extending our appreciation to these ladies who make it possible for our boys to have the equipment they need to support the outstanding program they have primarily because of this fund raiser!

Troop 111 has upgraded their website! We have added many new features that will help us manage the site more efficiently and better serve our scouting community today and for years to come.

There are many links on the site that are still being updated. Please be patient with us as we move all of the existing content over to our new site. The Troop has been around for over 70 years and there is an enormous amount of information we need to transfer.
